Thank you for taking the time to read about our practice. At “Breathe Grow Smile Glow” we have two practitioners and a team of six enthusiastic assistants. Dr Andrew Johnson graduated from the University of Sydney in 1985 and within 2 years of general practice was questioning, “Why are we removing perfectly healthy teeth to create space?” Investigation introduced numerous methods of creating space without removing teeth and as a result Dr Johnson has pursued ways to increase his knowledge on non-extraction techniques. He still performs routine dentistry as he is NOT a specialist but a general dentist. Mrs Coralie Rush commenced employment as a Dental Nurse in the early 1990’s and with a similar philosophy studied Dental Hygiene at “HMAS Defence Force dental training school” then University of Queensland School of Dentistry to become a qualified Dental Hygienist. As a result our combined experience is over 50 years and although our main emphasis/focus is early childhood intervention jaw development we also perform general dentistry including regular recalls for:- Examination and Cleaning- Preventive Dentistry - Routine Restorations (tooth coloured)- Crown and Bridge work- Dentures- Mouthguards- Veterans’ Affairs- Child Dental Benefit Scheme- Tooth WhiteningCurrently, Dr Johnson is the consultant dentist to the Newcastle Jets and the Hunter Academy of Sports while historically he has cared for the Newcastle Knights, NSW State of Origin and Australian Kangaroos, The Newcastle Falcons and the Australian Mens and Womens Basketball squads (The Boomers and The Opals) & the Australian Mens Football Team (The Socceroos)We, both, continue to enhance our knowledge by regularly attending conferences with well renowned Australian and foreign Lecturers. Our aim is to provide the most up to date, advanced techniques in order to create a functional, pain free oral environment now and for the future.
