Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS) is a community owned and operated organisation that has been successfully providing medical & primary health care services to the diverse Orange community since February 2005. We are a well regarded, innovative and dynamic leader in our field with the aim to offer greater access to health care for all members of the community in a culturally sensitive, effective and ongoing manner with outstanding results for all involved. Orange Aboriginal Health Service Incorporated, trading as Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS) is a community controlled, owned and operated organisation that has been successfully providing Medical & Primary Health Care services to the local Orange community since its official launch on the 18th February 2005. OAMS is a not-for-profit organisation that is governed by an independent skill based Board of Directors consisting of seven local people. Five of these positions, including four executive positions are Aboriginal identified positions with the remaining two being targeted at relevant skilled based people that can bring a different and additional professional perspective to the organisation. These directors hold their positions for a term of 2 years which allows for consistency in the critical area of Governance for OAMS. OAMS receives recurrent funding from the Office of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH) and has done so since our inception in 2005. Over the past 8 years we have seen a gradual increase in the amount of funding received due to the expansion and enhancement of OAMS and the services provided. In 2010 OAMS received funding from NSW Health for a Regional Based Oral Health Hub & Spoke Program for a period of 3 years. In addition, OAMS was also approved funding from NSW Health for a Chronic Care Enhancement Program. Since our inception OAMS has maintained a "Low Risk" rating from the Office of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health through their bi-annual Risk Assessment Process. We are a member of the Aboriginal Health & Medical Research Council (AH&MRC) who is the state peak body for the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) and also a member of a regional consortia of ACCHS entitled Bila Muuji Regional Aboriginal Health Services. To date OAMS is focused on current and projected health issues and the development of sound management practices to continue to support our local and outlying communities. The intent of OAMS' 2011-16 Strategic Plan is to continue to implement effective management strategies, support the ongoing enhancement and expansion of current clinical services and the establishment of identified regional based services.Dentist Find welcomes Orange Aboriginal Medical in Orange Looking for a dentist, you'll get the latest dental treatments and techniques, given gently by our caring team of dentists.
